At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

Pharmacists/Technicians:

1. Review fundamentals in management of adult cardiac arrest, focusing on changes in the 2015 ACLS guidelines

2. Discuss evidence utilizing vasopressin during cardiac arrest leading to its removal from the ACLS algorithm

3. Evaluate alteplase administration during cardiac arrest caused by suspected or confirmed pulmonary embolism

4. Assess benefits and risks associated with sodium bicarbonate use during cardiac arrest given the recent national drug shortage

5. Discuss changes to targeted temperature management post-cardiac arrest and pharmacologic considerations during cooling
